Sylvan (Syl) Melroe, Fargo, ND, was a young farm boy from Gwinner, ND, during the dawn of the 1940s. From that southeast ND farm, Syl eventually became Ad Manager for his family's highly recognized Melroe Company and traveled over 3 million miles throughout the USA and abroad, demonstrating and promoting the company's unique invention of the early 1960s--the Skid-Steer Loader or more commonly known as the Bobcat.
Syl's collegiate path at NDAC (now NDSU) in the 1950s was filled with athletics, music, ROTC, and so much more. How did college life open the doors to matrimony? Syl shares that unique story.
This sharp as a tack gentle giant admits that his fulfilled life has been ruled by the virtue of honesty. "Life has been a lot of fun. I've done things I never thought I would do."
