Did you have a favorite high school teacher? Don Roehr did. It was Mr. Holstrum.

As often happened in small town schools in the 1950s, a few teachers taught a variety of subjects, giving them many classroom opportunities to "gel" with a student's life and personality. Such was the case for Don and Mr. Holstrum at Shullsberg, Iowa. This charming story may reconnect your own thoughts with memories of your favorite teacher and the influence that teacher had on your life.

Don's retirement years have been in Ames, IA, but decades before retiring, he went on to help shape the lives of hundreds of students as an affective teacher and administrator. Stories of Don's quiet demeanor and love for people extend far beyond education though. Watch to learn more.
