In the mid 20th century, if you had been a high school student of Bert Mayer, now of Bismarck, ND, you would have discovered his deep passion for opening doors of opportunity to young males through the world of Vocational Agriculture.

Now, why were high school vocational agriculture classes only offered to boys, you might ask? Unlike in today's world, this "glass ceiling" for females had not yet been broken!

Bert's enthusiastic passion for connecting with youth in the classroom prepared him for multiple leadership platforms as his career advanced. His story is a gem!

Did you have Mr. Mayer as your VOAG teacher?
