Erika Berg is a Richton Park, IL, native whose love of horses metamorphosed from enjoying special days on her grandmother's farm in Minnesota to receiving riding lessons at the London Equestrian Center while living abroad, to coming full circle as an equine professor and head of the Bison Strides Equine Therapy program at North Dakota State University, Fargo.
Erika's chat with NDSU alums, North Dakota's The Pfeiffer Sisters, is first of its kind for The 1950s FUN CHAT. Our focus is to tell the story of those who lived during the 1950s. However, the 1950s was an influential time for those born decades later and whose lives were affected by the generations of those who had lived in the '50s. Jackie and Janine seek to tell those pieces of history as well.
As Erika chats about the present-day Bison Strides program at NDSU and the fascinating partnering of horses and people in this equine therapy program, we learn that a fresh newness of physical, mental, occupational, and emotional healing takes place within those the program serves.
This amazing story of hippotherapy is one you will definitely want to hear!
